Pablo Stoll, a renowned Uruguayan film director and screenwriter, was born in 1974 in Montevideo. He embarked on his academic journey at the Catholic University of Uruguay, where he pursued a degree in Social communication, and it was during this period that he crossed paths with fellow filmmaker Pablo Stoll and producer Fernando Epstein. The trio's shared passion for the craft led them to establish the production company Ctrl Z.
Upon graduating in 1999, Stoll and his collaborator, Pablo Stoll, set their sights on directing their debut feature film, 25 Watts, which premiered in 2001 and went on to garner numerous international accolades. The duo's subsequent feature film, Whisky, was released in 2004 and made its world premiere at the prestigious 2004 Cannes Film Festival, where it received the coveted Un Certain Regard award.
