June Wilkinson was born on March 27, 1940, in Essex, England. She was trained in dance at the Sussex School of Dancing and began performing on stage at the age of 12. At 15, she started as a topless dancer and later joined the legendary Windmill Theatre in London as a fan dancer in 1957.
Discovered by Hugh Hefner, June became a Playboy magazine sensation, appearing in the magazine in September 1958, August 1959, and November 1960. She never became an official "Playmate" but was dubbed "The Bosom" by Hefner.
June's film career was marked by low-grade films and uncredited roles, including Thunder in the Sun (1959),Mr. Tease and His Playthings (1959),and Career Girl (1960). She also appeared in several other films, including The Private Lives of Adam and Eve (1960),Macumba Love (1960),and The Continental Twist (1961).
Despite her lack of success in films, June continued to work in nightclubs, on the live stage, and in TV shows. She was a popular performer in dinner theaters and Las Vegas hotel circuits, and her most successful vehicle was the show "Pajama Tops."
June married NFL quarterback Dan Pastorini in 1972 and had a daughter, Brahna. They divorced ten years later. In her later years, June has been involved in various business ventures, including running a string of fitness centers in Canada, hosting the Encore cable show "The Directors," and a historical fashion show called "Glamour's First 5000 Years."
