Justin Long, a likable and boyish-looking actor, hails from Connecticut. Born and raised in Fairfield, he is the second of three sons to Professor R. James Long and former Broadway actress Wendy Lesniak. His ancestry is a blend of German, Sicilian, and Polish descent.
Growing up, Long attended Fairfield Prep and later enrolled in Vassar College. However, he didn't pursue acting full-time until after graduating in 2000. Prior to that, he was a member of the comedy troupe "LaughingStock," where he showcased his talent and earned favorable notices.
Long's early roles included a nervous teenager in the TV series Ed (2000) and a starring role in the offbeat horror film Jeepers Creepers (2001). The latter's ghoulish ending made it a major hit on the horror circuit, elevating his profile.
He then played the boyfriend of Britney Spears in Crossroads (2002) and landed a supporting role in the Vince Vaughn comedy Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004). In 2007, he took on a second lead role in the fourth "Die Hard" film, Live Free or Die Hard. Long also found success in the Jennifer Aniston romantic comedy The Break-Up (2006). He is known for being private about his personal life and doesn't frequent nightclubs and parties. However, his romance with actress Drew Barrymore in 2008 garnered significant attention.
Apart from his film appearances, Long is a prominent spokesman for Apple Mac computers, starring alongside John Hodgman in its commercials.
