Snehajaan, better known by his stage name K. P. Ummer, was a renowned Indian Malayalam cinema actor hailing from Thekkepuram quarter of Kozhikode, Kerala, India.
Born on October 11, 1934, in Calicut to T. Mohamed Koya and Beevi, Ummer began his acting career in the early sixties and continued to be active in the film industry until the late nineties.
Ummer's first film appearance was in Rarichan Enna Pauran (1956),and he went on to become a staple villain opposite the iconic hero Prem Nazir in many films.
In addition to his work as a villain, Ummer also played character roles in numerous films, including Udhyogastha (1967),which marked his first character role under the direction of P. Venu.
Throughout his illustrious career, Ummer worked with several prominent filmmakers and was a member of the K.P.A.C. and other drama troupes, showcasing his versatility as a professional drama actor.
In addition to his acting prowess, Ummer was also an accomplished football player, a testament to his exceptional athleticism.
In a remarkable display of integrity, Ummer became the first actor in Kerala to decline a state government award, a move that garnered widespread respect and admiration.
