Nhung Kate, a Vietnamese mononym, embarked on her journey in the entertainment industry while studying Theater and Dance at the Hanoi College of Arts. Her remarkable talent and dedication soon caught the attention of the judges, and she went on to win the popular reality competition show Vietnam Superstar.
This milestone victory paved the way for Nhung Kate's successful television career, as she landed her first lead role in a television series and later won the prestigious "The National Film and Television Actor" award in Vietnam. These consecutive successes catapulted her into the next stage of her career, marking the beginning of her rise to fame.
Since then, Nhung Kate has starred in more than 10 Vietnamese TV series as a lead, including recent hits such as "Swapping Fate" and "The Fire Dossier - Part 3: The Dead Body Speaks". Her international TV work has also been impressive, with roles in Australia's "Better Man" and Korea's "Face Me and Smile".
In addition to her television work, Nhung Kate has also made a mark in the film industry. Her breakthrough performance in the 2013 martial arts action film "Bui Doi Cho Lon" was followed by her critically acclaimed role in Ham Tran's supernatural horror "Hollow" in 2014. In 2016, she collaborated with Ham Tran again in the box office hit "Bitcoin Heist", where she played the police detective "Dada". Her performance in Derek Nguyen's supernatural thriller "The Housemaid" earned her the "Best Actress" award at the Special Grand Jury of Film Independent's LA Film Festival in 2017. The film was later acquired by IFC and released in 2018.
Nhung Kate's latest addition to her impressive filmography is her role as Yen' in "The Continental" for Starz, a part of the John Wick Universe.
When she is not busy with her acting career, Nhung Kate is an avid Ducatista with over 50,000 clocked racing miles. She has traveled extensively throughout South-East Asia on her Ducati motorcycles, exploring the region's scenic routes and experiencing the thrill of the open road.
Interestingly, Nhung Kate's passion for martial arts began as a hobby, and she even competed in 2 MMA cage fights earlier in her career. Her skills have earned her recognition as a skilled fighter, and she continues to train at Vietnam's first MMA Training Center, founded by her partner, renowned martial artist and stunt choreographer Johnny Tri Nguyen.
