Katherine Bailess, a talented individual born in Mississippi, embarked on her journey in the world of dance at the tender age of four, simultaneously competing in gymnastics, dance, and cheerleading. As she grew older, she began to showcase her skills on television, performing as a dancer in the Miss Mississippi Pageant for a staggering seven years.
As her passion for dance only continued to intensify, Bailess attended ballet workshops across the United States, eventually earning a scholarship to the prestigious Broadway Dance Center in New York and Ann Reinking's Broadway Theatre Project in Florida. Her academic pursuits led her to focus on dance and musical theatre at Marymount Manhattan College, where she later took part in the William Esper Studio's two-year intensive program.
In recent times, Bailess has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry, particularly in television and film. She has taken on the role of Kyle, a series regular, in the VH1 TV series 'Hit the Floor,' which follows the lives of the elite Los Angeles 'Devil Girl' Professional Basketball Dancers. This show, created by James LaRosa, premiered over Memorial Day Weekend this year.
Bailess is no stranger to the world of television and film, having appeared in a number of recurring roles on popular TV shows such as 'Gilmore Girls,' 'One Tree Hill,' 'The Loop,' and 'Sordid Lives: The Series.' Her film credits include "From Justin to Kelly" and "Bring It On Again," as well as numerous independent films, including "Below the Beltway," "Elle: A Modern Cinderella Tale," "Stone Markers," and "2 Dead 2 Kill."
In addition to her acting career, Bailess has also ventured into the world of television hosting, co-hosting the popular show "Afterbuzz TV" alongside Maria Menounos. Furthermore, she is currently exploring her Mississippi roots by writing and performing country music.
