Biography

Collea's artistic odyssey commenced at the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design, where he initially delved into the uncharted territories of experimental film, thereby laying the groundwork for a comprehensive and multifaceted exploration of the artistic realm that would unfold over several years and traverse multiple institutions.

After completing a four-year stint in the Marine Corps, where he refined his engineering expertise, Collea embarked on a journey of academic discovery at the University of Kentucky, the University of Arizona, and ultimately, the esteemed University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Through this odyssey of learning, Collea's academic pursuits reached new heights, ultimately resulting in the attainment of a prestigious Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in the interdisciplinary fields of Drama, Dance, and Film.

During this pivotal and transformative period of his career, Christopher Collea made a significant and lasting impact by establishing "Tenth St. Danceworks", a groundbreaking venture that propelled him to international recognition as a multifaceted artist, encompassing the roles of performer, choreographer, Technical Director, and filmmaker.
