Keith Cooke, a multifaceted individual, has made a name for himself in the realms of Wushu, Tae Kwon Do, and Karate, showcasing his exceptional skills and mastery of these ancient martial arts.
It all began in 1973, when Cooke started his Wushu training under the guidance of renowned instructor Roger Tung. As his proficiency grew, he embarked on a journey to China in 1980, where he dedicated himself to a rigorous training regimen, putting in a staggering 5 hours of practice every day.
The fruits of his labor soon became apparent, as Cooke entered the competitive circuit in 1983 and quickly rose through the ranks. In his inaugural year, he secured a respectable second-place finish in both the Weapons and Forms Divisions, narrowly missing the top spot to George Chung.
Undeterred by this setback, Cooke continued to hone his craft, and his efforts were rewarded in the following year when he claimed the top spot in the competition. This impressive feat cemented his status as a leading figure in the world of martial arts, and by 1985, Cooke had earned the distinction of being hailed as the Martial Artist of the Year.
