Growing up in the working-class neighborhood of Marquette Park, Keith demonstrated an early interest in performing for live audiences when he formed an entertainment company with his brother, a magician. Keith performed as a Ventriloquist and Puppeteer for school-age audiences in the area, citing the late Paul Winchell, a successful ventriloquist, comedian, and actor during his formative years, as a major influence on his decision to develop skills as a ventriloquist and puppeteer.
