Ken Wahl, a renowned actor, is most notably recognized for his Golden Globe-winning performance in the groundbreaking and critically acclaimed CBS crime drama, Wiseguy, which premiered in 1987. Notably, Wahl entered the world of acting without any prior experience or aspirations.
In 1979, Wahl was initially set to make a walk-on appearance in director Philip Kaufman's film, The Wanderers. However, Kaufman's keen eye for talent spotted Wahl's potential and subsequently cast him in the lead role. This breakthrough led to a string of TV and movie roles, including a co-starring role alongside the legendary Paul Newman in Fort Apache the Bronx, which was released in 1981.
Despite his success, Wahl has always been hesitant to bask in the spotlight, and he reacted with discomfort to a "US Magazine" cover story that dubbed him "Sexiest Man on TV". Wahl's acting career was tragically cut short in 1996 due to a disability caused by a broken neck and severe spinal column injury he sustained in 1992.
In his personal life, Wahl has been married twice. His first marriage was to Corinne Alphen-Wahl from 1983 to 1991, and he later married Shane Barbi in 1997, with whom he remains married to this day. Wahl has also dedicated himself to helping veterans suffering from PTSD by providing shelter pets for therapy.
