Kyle Burrell-Cowan, also known as Kyle T. Cowan, is a multi-talented individual who has made a name for himself in the fields of law, acting, and writing.
As a lawyer, Kyle possesses a diverse range of legal interests, including intellectual property, licensing, contracts, criminal law, litigation, and administrative law. During his time as a Student Law Clerk at the Rocky Mountain Veterans Advocacy Project, Kyle worked on three separate discharge upgrades, primarily advocating for victims of military sexual trauma during the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" era. He also gained invaluable docket and trial experience as a Summer '23 Legal Intern practicing under the Student Practice Act in Arapahoe County Court, securing a guilty verdict on a seemingly unwinnable trial through pure advocacy, testimonial evidence, and innovative use of technology. Furthermore, Kyle collaborated with Judge Hernandez to advocate for more progressive gender identifying language on Juror Forms at District 18.
Prior to these experiences, Kyle served as a Legal Intern at Cocona Labs Inc. in Summer and Fall of '22, gaining insight into corporate law, contracts, negotiation, intellectual property, and licensing. Kyle is driven by his passion for helping others and enacting positive change.
As an actor, Kyle has left his mark on productions including The Short History of the Long Road, Better Call Saul, Preacher, War On Everyone, Manhattan, Camouflage, and Odd Thomas. As a screenwriter, Cowan boasts 17 Coverfly Accolades and has achieved Finalist status in numerous competitions. His TV Pilot: Don't Say Gay! received a prestigious Top 1% Accolade on Coverfly. Kyle is also lauded for his multifaceted role in the indie feature film Camouflage, where he excelled in Writing, Directing, Producing, Editing, and Starring. As an author, Kyle's debut novel, Sunshine is Forever, soared to number one store seller status at Barnes and Noble for several consecutive weeks in Albuquerque, NM. The audiobook, available on Audible, clinched an Earphones Award from AudioFile Magazine.
Kyle graduated with his Juris Doctor from University of Denver's Sturm College of Law and Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Writing and Directing from the University of Colorado, Denver.
