Kyler Ki Sakamoto, a talented individual born and raised in Hawaii on the island of Oahu, is the youngest of three brothers. His passion for acting, dancing, and singing began at a tender age of three, and he has been honing his craft ever since.
Kyler's recent notable roles include playing John Tsukano, a hero in World War II, in the full-length movie "Go For Broke", which tells the story of the struggles and eventual rise of Japanese Americans in Hawaii after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Prior to this, he appeared in the short film "Touring", playing a troubled and destructive teen grappling with his parents' divorce.
In 2014, Kyler landed the lead role of "Tomikazu Nakaji" in the movie adaptation of Graham Salisbury's best-selling novel "Under the Blood-Red Sun", and also appeared in the Hawaii International Film Festival movie "The Fishing Club". He has been a cast member of Hawaii's premier children's performance company, The Diamond Head Theatre Shooting Stars, for the past four years.
As a young boy, Kyler has showcased his talent as a model and actor, appearing in Japanese commercials, print advertisements for Walmart and Honolulu Magazine, and on stage in various musical theatre productions. He has also danced in the "Nutcracker" and has been a part of the Hawaii 5-0 television series, appearing as a featured extra in the first season and as a guest star in 2014.
Kyler is trained in Musical Theatre, Tap Dance, Jazz Dance, Hip Hop, and Vocals, and also excels in gymnastics, Aikido Martial Arts, Mandarin, and Spanish language. He plays club volleyball for "Spike & Serve" and represents Punahou School in the sport. When not busy with his acting career, Kyler enjoys body boarding and swimming at the beach. In his free time, he enjoys producing and editing videos.
