Kym Wilson is a celebrated Australian actress, renowned for her impressive body of work across film, television, and theatre. Her illustrious career began with a critically acclaimed performance in the Australian Film Institute-awarded film "Flirting", alongside esteemed actresses Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts. This was swiftly followed by a starring role in the mini-series "Brides of Christ", opposite Naomi Watts and Russell Crowe, for which she received a prestigious Logie Award for New Talent.
Wilson's early success led to a stint with the Sydney Theatre Company, where she appeared in a production of "The Crucible". She then secured a series regular role on the beloved Australian drama "A Country Practice", earning numerous Logie and People's Choice Award nominations for Best Actress in a Series.
Kym returned to the stage, originating the role of Rachel in the Sydney Theatre Company's "Blackrock". She subsequently embarked on a national tour as Janet in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". This marked the beginning of a long and varied career in stage roles, Australian film and television movies.
Wilson's subsequent work included a role as Sam on the popular television series "Heartbreak High", as well as originating the role of Tess McLeod in the television movie "McLeod's Daughters", opposite esteemed actor Jack Thompson.
In addition to her impressive acting credentials, Kym is a recipient of the prestigious Winston Churchill Fellowship, which enabled her to study with Shakespeare & Company and the Moscow Art Theatre Company at Harvard. This experience had a profound impact on her craft, and she went on to launch the Australian fashion label, Leona Edmiston, in the US, Europe, and Asia, alongside her husband, writer/producer Sean O'Byrne.
After taking a break from acting, Kym returned to the stage in 2016, starring in the Australian Theatre Company's award-winning production of "Speaking in Tongues" at the Matrix Theatre in Hollywood.
