Lauren Courtney Mayhew, a talented individual, was born on November 27, 1985, in Tampa, Florida, to David Mayhew, an orthopaedic surgeon, and Sharon Mayhew, a nurse. She has a younger sister, Briana, born in 1988, who shares the same loving family environment.
Lauren's passion for acting began at the tender age of nine when she became a finalist in the national Wilhelmina contest. A keen-eyed judge, Marilyn Zitner, a renowned manager in New York, took notice of her exceptional talent and signed her. This marked the beginning of Lauren's acting journey, which would take her to new heights.
Her breakout role was as Marah Lewis on the popular TV show Guiding Light, followed by numerous guest appearances on other TV shows. After taking a brief hiatus, Lauren pursued her dream of becoming a singer and joined the group PYT, signed with Sony records. With PYT, she released an album, toured with renowned artists such as Destiny's Child, NYSC, and Britney Spears, and even performed at the pre-show for the Super Bowl in 2001. Her music career was further amplified by numerous magazine features with PYT.
After a few years, Lauren returned to her first love, acting, and recently landed a recurring role on the TV series American Dreams. She continues to nurture her songwriting and producing skills, solidifying her status as a multifaceted artist.
