Leanne was born in Liverpool in 1980 and embarked on a journey to hone her craft at the renowned Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Upon graduation, she made the bold decision to leave her home city and venture to London, where she encountered a mix of waitressing and shop work prior to making her television debut in Casualty in 2004.
Her impressive television career has since flourished, with notable roles including Victorian campaigner Jane Cobden in the period thriller Ripper Street in 2012, and a trio of roles in 2016, playing wartime school teacher Teresa in Home Fires, as well as two different cops in Line of Duty and Undercover.
In addition to her small screen appearances, Leanne has also made numerous stage appearances, predominantly in her native Liverpool at the Playhouse and Everyman Theatres, where she has played a diverse range of roles such as Lady Macbeth, Stella in A Streetcar Named Desire, and Rita in Educating Rita.
Her big screen credits include the title role in The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death in 2014, as well as being part of the fighting force in Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens in 2015.
As of mid-2016, Leanne resides in London with her beloved Jack Russell cross dog, Ted.
