After graduating high school, Leanne Morgan felt the allure of Hollywood, but the idea of moving there was too daunting for a country girl who had never been away from home. Instead, she enrolled in college at The University of Tennessee, where she graduated with a degree in Child and Family Studies, barely making it through with her degree in hand.
After getting married to her husband Chuck, they moved to Bean Station, Tennessee, in the beautiful foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. To stay busy after having her first child, Leanne started selling jewelry at home parties, where she ended up talking more about breastfeeding, hemorrhoids, and being a mom than the jewelry itself. The party guests loved her humor so much that someone even peed on a couch, and soon she was booked for a year in advance.
The jewelry company noticed her comedic talent and asked her to speak at their sales rallies, where women encouraged her to pursue stand-up comedy. Leanne finally had access to comedy clubs when her family moved to San Antonio in 2001, and her career in comedy took off quickly.
Leanne's comedy has led to prestigious performances, including the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, and development deals for her own sitcom with ABC and Warner Brothers, TV Land, and Sony Television. With over 2.25 million followers across social media, her popular stand-up special "So Yummy" has reached over 50 million views on YouTube.
As her fanbase continues to grow, Leanne's relatability has made her a household name, discussing topics such as being a homemaker, sharing Jell-O recipes, and having a new grandbaby. She has appeared on "The Kelly Clarkson Show", "The View", and "Nick at Nite's Funniest Mom", and has toured with the Southern Fried Chicks.
Now that her children are grown, Leanne is focusing full-time on her comedy career. In December 2022, she concluded her "The Big Panty" tour with "Outback Presents", which spanned over 100 shows in theaters across the U.S. She also taped her first Netflix stand-up special, set to premiere in early 2023. In February 2023, she will embark on her next 100+ show "Just Getting Started" theater and arena tour with "Outback Presents".
When she's not on the road, Leanne cherishes spending time with her husband, three children, new grandbaby, and two beagles in Knoxville, Tennessee.
