After completing his secondary education at Gloucester High School in 1955, Lemuel made the bold decision to relocate to the bustling metropolis of New York City, where he gained valuable experience as a stage manager at various esteemed nightclubs, including the iconic Bal Tabarin located on West 46th Street. Furthermore, Amero spent several fruitful seasons refining his craft in the world of summer stock acting and stage managing at the renowned Lake George Playhouse, a renowned institution in the world of live theater.
Lemuel's professional journey began to take shape as he made his initial foray into the world of soft-core cinema in the year 1964. As his career continued to unfold, he embarked on a collaborative venture with his younger sibling, John Amero, to establish their own production company, aptly named Amero Brothers, in the mid-1960s.
In the early stages of their partnership, the brothers focused primarily on producing soft-core films, gradually shifting their creative energies towards more explicit and provocative content as the early 1970s arrived. This marked the beginning of a new era for Amero Brothers, as they continued to push the boundaries of what was considered acceptable in the world of adult entertainment, churning out X-rated films until the mid-1980s.
Lemuel Firth Amero's life was marked by a profound sense of loss and tragedy, as his mortal coil was tragically severed by the cruel hand of fate on a fateful day in August, precisely on the 5th of that month, in the year 1989, when he succumbed to the ravages of an AIDS-related illness at the tender age of 51, his life's trajectory cruelly cut short in the bustling metropolis of New York.
