Notable Korean-American actress, Kang Yeon-ok, who later became Linda, was born in the bustling metropolis of Busan Metropolitan City, South Korea. Her early years were spent in the Dongnae District, where she completed her high school education.
In 1956, Linda embarked on a new journey, traveling to the tropical paradise of Hawaii, where she pursued a degree in political science. However, her academic aspirations took a dramatic turn when she won a prestigious beauty contest, which subsequently led to her being signed by the renowned 20th Century-Fox film studio.
As her acting career continued to flourish, Linda began to formulate plans to establish a drama school in her native Korea, with the goal of signing with United Artists in 1963. Throughout the mid-1960s, she remained active in the entertainment industry, but ultimately grew dissatisfied with her role as an actress.
Seeking a change of pace, Linda made the decision to leave the glamour of Hollywood behind, and instead, made New York City her home until her untimely passing at the age of 49.
