Liu Jian, a renowned Chinese animator and film director, was born on November 11th, 1969, in Jiangsu. Initially, he pursued a degree in painting at Nanjing University of the Arts, but his passion for animation soon took center stage. In 1995, he began crafting his unique animation style, which would eventually lead to the establishment of Le-joy Animation Studio in 2007.
Liu Jian's creative journey continued to unfold with the premiere of his first full-length animation, Piercing I, at the prestigious Holland Animation Film Festival. This marked a significant milestone in his career, paving the way for his subsequent projects. His second feature-length film, Have a Nice Day, made a splash at the 2017 Berlin International Film Festival, competing alongside other esteemed entries. The film's outstanding quality was further recognized when it won the Best Animation Feature award at the 54th Golden Horse Awards.
