Louise Siversen was born on May 25th, 1960, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. She began her acting career as a shy child, sent to drama and dance classes by her parents to help her interact with other children. It was there that she developed a passion for performing and went on to join St Martins Youth Theatre, appearing in numerous productions throughout her childhood.
After studying law for a brief period at university, Louise decided to pursue her true passion for acting, attending a careers day that changed her mind about her future. Prior to her acting career, she also worked as a model in the early 1980s and was trained in classical ballet and jazz dance.
Louise's breakthrough role came when she worked her way up from a non-speaking extra to a fully-fledged character on the Australian drama series "Prisoner." She played the role of Lou Kelly, making a significant impact on the show and becoming one of the longest-serving actresses on the series.
In her personal life, Louise married her husband Theo, a Persian carpet importer, in 1983. She has also studied drama and theatre acting in New York with the Uta Hagen School. Her previous theatre experience includes her one-woman self-devised piece, "Coming To My Senses," for Playbox, and "Art and Soul" for the Melbourne Theatre Company.
Louise has worked extensively for the Melbourne Theatre Company and La Mama in Melbourne, as well as training at The Australian College of Entertainers and The National Theatre Company. She has appeared in numerous films, including David Swann's debut feature "Crackers," and has played minor roles in many others.
Louise has been nominated for Logie awards for her roles in the current affairs series "Backberner" and drama "Janus." She has also appeared in the series "The Games," a satirical look at the Olympic Games in Sydney. Louise has worked extensively for children's TV companies during the 90's and is the voice of numerous television and radio adverts.
In addition to her acting career, Louise is a qualified flower essence therapist and has a strong interest in alternative therapies, including massage, aromatherapy, and kinesiology. She is also a yoga practitioner and enjoys reading, travelling, fashion, and good wines.
