Lucy Boryer was born in the vibrant city of Portland, Oregon, where her journey in the world of entertainment began. As a child, she was already bitten by the acting bug and started performing in local theater productions in her hometown. Her talents didn't stop there, as she also honed her skills as a baton twirler, competing in various competitions across Oregon and Washington state, including the prestigious National Championships in Seattle in 1980. Her impressive performance earned her a first-place finish in the Oregon State speech championships during her high school years.
After graduating from the renowned California Institute of the Arts (CAL ARTS) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting, Lucy landed a role on the popular ABC series Doogie Howser, M.D. just six months later. She started as a day player with only five lines in the show's first episode but quickly became a series regular for the second and third seasons, appearing in a total of 10 episodes in the first season.
Lucy's impressive credentials didn't go unnoticed, as she was screen-tested for the role of "replacement Becky" on the hit show Roseanne. However, she decided to take a break from the entertainment industry to explore other opportunities. Now, she's back in Hollywood, continuing to work in the industry and giving back to the next generation of actors.
As a member of the Valley West Actors Studio, run by the esteemed Sara Wood (Evan Rachel Wood's mother),Lucy teaches acting classes for kids, teens, and adults, while also furthering her own acting skills under the guidance of Sara and actor Jed Rees.
