Lydia was born on October 9th, 1985, in Leicestershire, England, to a family of four siblings, with her mother being an accomplished opera singer and her older brother Charlie, born on January 25th, 1981, also pursuing a career in acting. Lydia's educational journey began at a school in Loughborough, followed by attendance at Oakham School in Rutland, before she honed her acting skills at the Oxford School of Drama, graduating in 2007.
Prior to landing her major break, Lydia gained experience in repertory theatre, performing in productions such as "Look Back in Anger" at the Lichfield Garrick and Shakespearean plays at the Half Moon in Herne Hill. She also worked as a children's entertainer, further developing her versatility as a performer.
Lydia's breakthrough role came when she was cast in the popular sitcom "The Inbetweeners" in 2011, reprising her character in the sequel, "The Inbetweeners 2," three years later. On television, she has showcased her comedic talents in various roles, including Metella, the bossy slave, in the ancient Rome-set sitcom "Plebs" (2013),and Bunny, the ditzy character, in "Drifters" (2013).
In 2015, Lydia took on the role of Princess Penelope in the tongue-in-cheek series "The Royals," a show that satirically explores the lives of a fictional British royal family. Outside of her acting career, Lydia is an honorary ambassador for the East Midlands Rainbows children's hospice in her hometown of Loughborough, using her platform to support a worthy cause.
