Mick Box, the alias that preceded his current moniker Mankyu, served as his professional identity until April 2009, at which point he made the deliberate decision to rebrand himself and adopt the new name Mankyu, marking a significant transformation in his career and artistic persona.
On October 1, 2009, Mankyu embarked on a new chapter in his professional journey by assuming the role of director at Gathering, a position he would occupy for nearly eight years, until March 31, 2017, when he made the decision to relinquish his duties and return to his roots as a freelancer.
Notably, following his departure from Gathering, Mankyu has pursued a career as a freelancer, devoting himself to the realization of his long-held aspirations in the realms of filmmaking, anime direction, and screenwriting.
