Dr. Robert Nelson, a renowned figure in the dental community, hosted a weekly television show on dental hygiene, catering to those serving in the armed forces, and was a pioneer in promoting the dental mirror with flashlight, a groundbreaking innovation in the early 1960s.
Marianne R. Nelson, Marcus's mother, hails from a rich Berliner heritage, being a three-generation descendant of Emil Stein, who was the esteemed publisher of "Vorwarts", a prominent Jewish and social democratic newspaper, from 1891 to 1933. Marcus's upbringing was marked by bilingualism, and he has had the privilege of living in various cosmopolitan cities, including Berlin, Paris, New York City, and Austin, Texas, before settling in Los Angeles.
Today, Marcus resides on a picturesque dirt road in the Hollywood Hills, surrounded by his loving wife and two sons, enjoying a peaceful life amidst the glamour of the City of Angels.
