Mareva Galanter is a French singer, actress, and beauty pageant titleholder born on February 4, 1979, in Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia. Her early start in modeling began at the age of 16, with photoshoots in French Polynesia, followed by a move to Europe to compete in the Miss France contest.
Galanter's success in modeling led her to compete in the Miss World Islands and Miss Tahiti beauty contests, winning the latter in 1998. This victory allowed her to compete for the Miss France 1999 crown, which she ultimately won. She also participated in the Miss Universe 1999 pageant, although she did not place.
In addition to her modeling career, Galanter has expanded her work into music and singing. Her debut album, Ukuyéyé, was released under Warner Music in 2006. She has since released videos for seven of her songs and has hosted the French TV program Do you Do you scopitone, which features scopitones from the 1960s and 1970s.
Galanter has also appeared in several films, including 3 Zéros, Les Gaous, The Pink Panther, and Tu Devrais Faire du Cinéma. Her second album, Happy Fiu, was recorded with the English band Little Barrie in 2008 and features collaborations with Rufus Wainwright, Martin Duffy of Primal Scream, and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.
In 2010, Galanter joined the Nouvelle Vague project, touring and recording with Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux. She has since recorded material for the project's next album and has worked with producer Jim Diamond at his studio, Ghetto Recorders, in Detroit.
On May 5, 2023, Galanter released the bilingual single "Une Tahitienne á Paris," featuring English singer Robbie Williams. Galanter's father is Jewish, with roots in Romania and Russia, and she is in a relationship with French television presenter Arthur. The couple has a daughter named Manava, born on August 5, 2015.
