Margot was born in the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and spent her formative years in the state of Delaware and Northern Indiana, where she was raised. She then attended the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy, followed by the Yale School of Drama and the North Carolina School of the Arts, from which she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
After completing her education, Margot began her career in the city of New York, where she worked in both theatre and commercials. She was a part of the original company of "I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking It On The Road" at the New York Shakespeare Festival, and later reprised her role in the musical at the Circle in the Square Downtown.
Margot continued to work in the musical in the Los Angeles company, and eventually relocated to California. In 2011, she reprised her role as Alice in "Still Getting My Act Together", a new sequel to the original, in New York.
In addition to her work in theatre, Margot has also worked in television in Los Angeles from 1980 until the present. Furthermore, she is a talented composer and singer-songwriter, and performs in a variety of Los Angeles venues.
Currently, Margot is working on a solo show featuring terrible true stories and some pretty songs to accompany them. In her personal life, she is a mother of 14-year-old twins.
