Marianne Hansen was born in Hong Kong to a Chinese mother and a Danish father. At the tender age of four months, she made the move to Denmark, where she would spend her formative years in the picturesque countryside south of Copenhagen.
As a linguistic prodigy, Marianne speaks an impressive array of languages, including Danish, Cantonese, English, German, and French. This trilingual household upbringing allowed her to develop a strong foundation in multiple languages from a young age.
After completing her education, Marianne pursued a degree in Business Studies at a university in London, earning a BA (Hons) in the field. However, her true passion lay in the performing arts, and she soon found herself drawn to the world of acting.
In 2002, Marianne made the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles, where she enrolled in the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Although she initially intended to hone her acting skills, she soon discovered a newfound appreciation for the art of storytelling behind the camera.
Marianne went on to study directing, producing, and cinematography at UCLA Extension, completing her coursework from 2004 to 2006. She then furthered her education by earning a Master's degree in Screenwriting from The London Film School in 2011.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Marianne has also completed several short films and a feature-length film. Her graduation film, "Alice Rose," won the prestigious Best Art Film award at the 2006 FAIF film festival in Los Angeles.
Marianne's debut feature film, "Lapse," was a labor of love that spanned several years, with the final edit being completed in 2013. Since her return to Denmark in December 2007, she has gone on to complete an additional three short films: "Dronning for en dag/Queen for a Day" (2013),"Fuck" (2013),and "Et gensyn/Second Encounters" (2014).
