Mark Hoffe is a devoted rock 'n' roll enthusiast, with a penchant for cheering on underdogs and a voracious appetite for books. His short film, Snarbuckled, released in 2010, garnered widespread acclaim from renowned author John N. Smith, who praised its "widely imaginative," "funny," and "gorgeous" cinematography, likening it to the early work of Terry Gilliam.
In addition to his work on Snarbuckled, Mark's impressive credits include serving as head writer for the inaugural season of the docudrama series Save My Pet in 2011. He also wrote, directed, and produced the CBC documentary The Needle and the Damage Undone in 2012, as well as writer and producer credits for the CBC documentaries Sister Morphine in 2014 and Bubble Dancers, the first interactive web doc from Newfoundland and Labrador, co-produced with the National Film Board of Canada in the same year.
Mark's extensive list of accomplishments also includes writing Justin Simms' feature film adaptation of Chad Pelley's book, Away from Everywhere, released in 2016, starring Shawn Doyle, Joanne Kelly, and Jason Priestley. Furthermore, his feature screenplay, No Voices in the Sky, a coming-of-age tribute to the legendary Lemmy Kilmister, won the inaugural $25,000 Daryl Duke Prize.
