Aubrey Smith, also known by her pseudonym Francine Desmond, is a renowned American actress, model, and singer. Born in Farmington, Michigan, she was an honor student and featured in "Who's Who of American Students" before pursuing a modeling career.
At 17, Smith enrolled in Michigan State University to study psychology, but her travel demands as a model forced her to abandon her studies. She was soon discovered by a Playboy magazine scout and became a centerfold in July 1973. This led to her relocation to California.
Smith honed her acting skills through workshops and appeared in various TV roles, including How the West Was Won, Quincy, M.E., Charlie's Angels, and National Lampoon's Animal House. She shared star billing with Debbie Allen in the CBS pilot Ebony, Ivory and Jade and made her professional singing and dancing debut.
During the 1980 actors' strike, Smith produced and starred in an award-winning production of "Vanities" alongside Rita Wilson. She went on to appear in numerous TV shows, including Happy Days, Taxi, Dallas, Fantasy Island, and Love, Sidney. In the late 1990s, Smith began singing in local L.A. clubs, performing French "chansons" and R&B duets. She married her singing partner, Keith England, in 2000 and continues to perform with him.
