Matt Piedmont was born in Walnut Creek, California, and spent his formative years in Spokane, Washington.
At the age of 25, he was recruited as a writer for Saturday Night Live, where he dedicated six years of his life, earning a prestigious Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in the process.
Piedmont also created and directed the popular web series "Carpet Brothers", which was later broadcast on HBO, captivating audiences with its unique blend of humor and storytelling.
In addition to his work in television, Piedmont directs commercials for the production company Prettybird, creating memorable ads for prominent brands such as Pepsi, 7up, Lincoln, Budweiser, Orbit, HBO, Microsoft, Gillette, AT&T, Verizon, and many others.
Piedmont's short film "Brick Novax's Diary" won the coveted U.S. Grand Jury Prize for Short Filmmaking at the renowned Sundance Film Festival, solidifying his reputation as a talented filmmaker.
He also directed the live stage presentation of the 60th Anniversary of Allen Ginsberg's iconic poem "Howl", produced by Hal Willner, featuring an all-star cast including Nick Cave, Beth Orton, Van Dyke Parks, Will Forte, Amy Poehler, Chris Parnell, Courtney Love, Chloe Webb, and Tim Robbins.
Currently, Piedmont resides in Venice with his wife Jyll, and is often found scouring thrift shops to expand his impressive collection of vinyl records.
