Biography

Maxime Giroux, a French Canadian director, was born in Montreal in 1976. His feature film career began in 2002 with a focus on directing shorts, including "Le rouge au sol" and "Les jours", both released in 2006. Additionally, Giroux explored commercial and music videos for various artists such as Louise Forestier, Corneille, and The Dears.

Prior to the international success of his third feature, "Félix et Meira", Giroux had already directed two feature-length movies. His 2009 film, "Demain", was a poignant portrayal of a new generation, told through the story of a young woman caring for her diabetic mother. In 2010, Giroux released "Jo for Jonathan", a thought-provoking meditation on doomed brotherhood.

Giroux's work often explores complex themes and relationships, as seen in his critically acclaimed film "Félix et Meira", which tells the love story of a forty-year-old loner and a young Hasidic wife and mother. This film received widespread international recognition, solidifying Giroux's reputation as a talented and innovative director.
