Mayumi Yoshida, a talented individual, hails from Tokyo, Japan, where her father's profession as a journalist afforded her an international upbringing. Throughout her childhood, she resided in Washington D.C., Brussels, and Tokyo, experiencing the world from a unique perspective.
As an actress, Yoshida is recognized for her captivating portrayal of Crown Princess in The Man in The High Castle, earning her a nomination for Best Emerging Actor at the UBCP Awards. Her impressive acting credits also include appearances in The Terror: Infamy on AMC and The Good Doctor on ABC.
In addition to her acting accomplishments, Yoshida is a skilled writer and director. Her latest film, TOKYO LOVERS, won the Best Performance Award at the Vancouver Asian Film Festival. Her directorial debut film, AKASHI, received numerous accolades, including Outstanding Writer at the NBCUniversal Short Film Festival, Best Female Director at the Vancouver Short Film Festival, the Matrix Award at the Vancouver Women in Film Festival, and several more international recognitions.
Yoshida's impressive achievements in multiple fields were celebrated with the 2019 Newcomer Award at the Vancouver Women in Film Festival's Spotlight Awards. She has recently completed her Harold Greenberg-funded short film, "In Loving Memory," which she co-directed with Diana Bang and wrote and starred in alongside Andrea Bang.
