Melia embarked on a journey of artistic exploration, commencing her studies in contemporary dance and drama in the United Kingdom. Following her drama training, she secured her first acting role in the acclaimed TV series The Borgias, created by Neil Jordan and airing on Showtime, where she shared the screen with the renowned actor Jeremy Irons. This initial foray into television was followed by her involvement in prominent TV productions such as The Bible, broadcast on History, and Guardians of the Galaxy, a Marvel production.
Melia's subsequent work included appearances in art-house films, including Committed, directed by S. Kliris, and Suspension of Disbelief, helmed by M. Figgis. Subsequently, she relocated to Los Angeles, California, marking a significant milestone in her career.
In Los Angeles, Melia secured a series regular role on the popular TV show Tyrant, which aired on FX Networks for two seasons.
