As he grew older, Santana continued to hone his craft, co-starring in the short-lived sitcom "Getting By" alongside seasoned actresses Cindy Williams and Telma Hopkins at the age of 15. However, it was his iconic role as the smooth-talking Romeo Santana on the popular WB series "The Steve Harvey Show" in 1996 that cemented his status as a rising star.
Tragically, Merlin Santana's life was cut short on November 9, 2002, when he was senselessly murdered while sitting in a car in Los Angeles, California. He was just 26 years old at the time of his untimely passing.
