Michael Paxton holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from New York University's Graduate Institute of Film & Television, where his thesis film, "Forbidden Fruit", garnered numerous accolades at the prestigious NYU film festival. Following this achievement, he relocated to Los Angeles in 1989, commencing his tenure with Walt Disney's Feature Animation Department during the production of the beloved animated classic, "The Little Mermaid".
Throughout his tenure in feature animation production, Michael continued to hone his skills, eventually transitioning to the world of stage productions in Hollywood. Notably, he produced and directed a pair of successful plays, both of which were inspired by the works of the renowned author Ayn Rand. These productions, "Ideal" in 1989 and "Anthem" in 1991, showcased Michael's versatility and talent.
Michael's foray into documentary filmmaking yielded his first documentary, "Ayn Rand: A Sense of Life", which garnered an Academy Award nomination in 1997 and won a Golden Satellite Award in 1998. He also served as Associate Producer on notable Disney and Miramax productions, including "Lion King 1 1/2" and "Bionicle 3: Web of Shadows".
In addition to his work in film and television, Michael has authored a range of children's books for Disney, as well as a companion book to his documentary, "Ayn Rand: A Sense of Life". Under his own production company, Whitetail Productions, Michael continues to develop his own screenplays and productions, solidifying his reputation as a talented and prolific creative force in the entertainment industry.
