Michelle Pokopac, a multifaceted American actor of Korean heritage, has always been driven by a profound passion for the arts. This creative energy manifested itself in a diverse range of activities, including acting, drawing, and playing the piano. Her interest in acting only intensified as she delved deeper into her high school's theatre department.
Michelle's academic pursuits led her to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Performance from Columbus State University. She further honed her craft by engaging in additional studies in Florence, Italy, and Oxford, England.
In 2017, Michelle, along with her partners, took the initiative to establish East by Southeast, a groundbreaking organization dedicated to fostering the growth and development of Asian artists and their work in Atlanta. This innovative endeavor also prioritizes community engagement, striving to promote inclusivity and representation in the arts.
Michelle's commitment to social and racial justice was galvanized by the events that unfolded in the Atlanta theatre community in 2020. As a result, she joined IDEA ATL (Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity in the Arts of Atlanta),a collective effort aimed at promoting a more equitable and just arts environment.
