Biography

Joseph Yule III, better known as Mickey Rooney Jr., was born on July 3, 1945, to the illustrious actor Mickey Rooney and his second wife, Betty Jane Rase. The charming Betty Jane, a beauty pageant winner, crossed paths with the legendary Mickey Sr. during his military service in Alabama, where he was stationed during World War II. This serendipitous encounter resulted in the birth of Mickey Jr., who would go on to become the first of his father's nine children.

As a young individual, Mickey Jr. was fortunate enough to have been raised in the vibrant city of Hollywood, where he had the unique opportunity to interact with numerous renowned celebrities, including the legendary Mae West, the iconic Elvis Presley, and the groundbreaking musical group, The Beatles.

During his formative years, Mickey Jr. had the privilege of attending a social gathering at the esteemed home of the talented Judy Garland, where he had the chance to make a lasting impression on the beloved actress, who took notice of his striking physical appearance and graciously offered him a heartfelt compliment on his good looks.

Mickey Jr.'s physical stature diverged significantly from that of his father, Mickey Sr., who was notable for his compact height. In contrast, Mickey Jr. developed into a tall individual, surpassing the six-foot mark, a characteristic he inherited from his mother. Unfortunately, the marital relationship between Mickey Sr. and his spouse was marred by the husband's unfaithfulness. This marital infidelity ultimately led to the dissolution of their union in 1948, resulting in a divorce.

Mickey Jr., the offspring of a renowned individual, maintained a strong and regular relationship with his father even after the dissolution of their marriage, which ultimately allowed him to leverage his father's esteemed reputation to propel his own career forward.

However, to establish himself as a capable and accomplished individual in his own right, Mickey Jr. had to put in significantly more effort and dedication compared to his peers.

Mickey Jr., the son of the renowned music legend, has not only followed in his father's footsteps but has also ventured into the world of music, showcasing his impressive skills as a bassist. In fact, he has had the privilege of playing alongside the iconic Willie Nelson, lending his talents to his band. Moreover, Mickey Jr. has even recorded an album of his own, titled The Song Album, which is a testament to his musical prowess.

As the son of a gifted vocalist, Mickey Jr. has undoubtedly inherited his mother's talent for music. He is a multi-instrumentalist, proficient in playing a wide range of instruments, including the bass, guitar, drums, harmonica, and keyboards. Furthermore, he is also a skilled songwriter, crafting his own music with ease.

Mickey Jr., a devout individual who has undergone a profound spiritual transformation, embracing Christianity in a rebirth of sorts, first met his wife Laura, a Messianic Jew who has a deep connection to the Jewish faith, in the year 1986. This chance encounter was the beginning of a beautiful journey for the couple, as they devoted themselves to spreading the Good News and sharing the message of God's love with others through their ministry, The Lord's Link Ministry. Based in the picturesque city of Hemet, California, Mickey Jr. and his wife Laura have led a life of devotion to their faith and have shared their remarkable story of love, faith, and perseverance in their autobiographical book, "Which One's Your Mother?", a testament to the power of their relationship and their unwavering commitment to spreading the word of God.

Mickey Rooney Jr., the eldest son of the legendary entertainer Mickey Rooney, and his brother Tim, a fellow entrepreneur and industry professional, jointly helm the Rooney Entertainment Group, a multifaceted production company that specializes in the creation and development of high-quality motion pictures and television programs.
