Mie Kitahara

Mie Kitahara, a celebrated Japanese actress, made her entrance into the world on July 23, 1933, setting the stage for a remarkable career that would span over a decade. During this impressive period, she captivated audiences with her captivating performances in an astonishing number of films, exceeding sixty, from 1952 to 1960. One of her most notable collaborations was with the legendary Japanese star, Yujiro Ishihara, commencing with the 1956 film, Crazed Fruit. This fruitful partnership not only cemented her reputation as a prominent actress but also led to a lifelong connection, as the couple exchanged vows in 1960. Following her marriage to Ishihara, Kitahara bid farewell to the acting world, adopting her married name, Makiko Ishihara, and dedicating herself to her personal life.
