Minami, a talented French and Japanese actor, has made a significant impact in the film industry with her notable performances in Vision (2018) alongside Juliette Binoche and Minamata (2020) alongside Johnny Depp.
Minami's professional journey began at the tender age of 13 with her debut role in Battle Royale (2000). Since then, she has worked with a diverse range of acclaimed directors in Japan, including Mika Ninagawa, Masanori Tominaga, and Macoto Tezuka, on projects such as Sakuran (2007),Vengeance Can Wait (2010),and Barbara (2019).
In addition to her extensive filmography, Minami has also made a name for herself in the world of theatre and television, with notable performances in Erendira (2006) and Yukan Kurabu (2007).
After accumulating over 20 years of experience in the Japanese film, theatre, and television industry, Minami felt the need for a new challenge. In 2015, she relocated to Paris with the support of the Japanese Ministry of Culture, where she pursued further education in physical theatre at the prestigious Jacques Lecoq Theater School.
Today, Minami divides her time between Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Paris, continuing to hone her craft and take on new projects.
When not acting, Minami is a passionate painter, with her artwork exhibited in galleries around the world. She is also an accomplished dancer, proficient in classical, contemporary, and traditional Japanese dance styles.
