Mira Furlan, a renowned actress, has had a prolific career in theatre, film, and television. She emigrated to the United States in November 1991, fleeing the intolerable political circumstances in her homeland.
Ms. Furlan gained international recognition for her role as Ambassador Delenn in the Warner Brothers TV series Babylon 5, earning the Sci-Fi Universe Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Genre TV-series in 1996 and 1997.
In addition to her work in Babylon 5, Ms. Furlan has appeared in various American productions, including the TV movie My Antonia, the title roles in Sophocles Antigone and Lorca's Yerma, and Brecht's Baal and Shaw's Don Juan In Hell, alongside Edward Asner and Rene Auberjonois. Ms. Furlan's extensive theatre credits include her work with the Croatian National Theatre and frequent guest appearances at major theatres throughout the former Yugoslavia.
