Born in Loíza, Puerto Rico, this talented individual has made a name for himself as a theater, film, radio, and television actor and producer with a remarkable 20-year career spanning across Puerto Rico, the United States, Spain, Colombia, and more.
As a teenager, he began working professionally and further honed his skills at the Drama Department of the University of Puerto Rico, where he earned his undergraduate degree with honors. His training encompassed classical theater, physical theater, and dance, as well as fluency in Spanish, English, Portuguese, and French.
He gained recognition in the Latino theater circuit in New York City, receiving accolades from Hola Awards, ACE, and ATI. Additionally, he holds a certificate in Arts Administration from the New York University School of Continuing Studies.
This Puerto Rican film industry stalwart has worked in over 20 films on the island, including collaborations with Oscar-nominated actor Terrence Howard, rapper Ja Rule, and Goya Award-winner Celso Bugallo. His film credits also include leading roles in Desamores and Las dos caras de Jano, adaptations of Wilfredo Mattos-Cintrón's detective novels.
He has also excelled in television, starring in productions for networks such as CBS, Telemundo, PBS, Telemicro Internacional, and Fox Telecolombia. His versatility has led to notable roles as historical figures, such as composer Rafael Hernández and baseball legend Roberto Clemente.
One of his most notable works was his portrayal of Pedro Knight (Celia Cruz' husband) in the Off-Broadway play Celia: The Life and Music of Celia Cruz, which ran for over a year and traveled to cities across the United States and the Canary Islands. He reprised this role in the TV series Celia, released in 2015.
Recent credits include work in Colombia for Caracol TV's soap opera La Esclava Blanca, which has maintained top ratings since its debut in January 2016 and has been sold to 28 countries. Netflix has also acquired streaming rights.
