Momo Dione was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to a Guinean diplomat father and an entrepreneur mother who specialized in event production and African fashion. Prior to reaching high school, Dione had already had a cosmopolitan upbringing, having moved to the United States in 1993 when his father was appointed to the Guinea mission in New York City.
Growing up, Dione's passion for acting began to take shape. He started performing in plays during elementary school on Roosevelt Island, and his talent was evident even at a young age. As he entered high school, Dione continued to pursue his love of acting, auditioning for various projects and even landing roles in plays, TV shows, commercials, and music videos.
Despite his academic and extracurricular commitments, including playing basketball and football, being class president for three consecutive terms, and serving as prom king, Dione still managed to fit in acting. He graduated from Yonkers International Baccalaureate High School in 2004, and has since become a successful actor, featuring in a range of productions, including "Law & Order: Criminal Intent", "Across the Universe", "Notorious", and the upcoming "Restless City", which premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
Dione's acting career has been marked by his versatility and range, with credits in plays, TV shows, commercials, music videos, student films, independent films, and feature films. He has also been involved with several youth development acting programs, including the All Stars Project/Youth Onstage/Castillo Theater, where he was a member of the original cast and co-author of the production "Our City".
In addition to his acting career, Dione is also a co-owner of Caramel Cappuccino films, a production company that aims to produce films that articulate relevant issues of life and relationship in under-served or under-acknowledged communities. Dione is constantly auditioning and working on new projects, driven by his desire to make his mark in the Hollywood and Broadway markets and beyond.
In his free time, Dione enjoys horseback riding, opera, Congolese soukous, sports, and anything related to cinema. Despite his busy schedule, Dione is bi-coastal, dividing his time between Los Angeles and New York, and frequently travels to pursue his passion for acting and filmmaking.
