Moon Geun-Young, born on May 6, 1987, in Gwangju, South Korea, began her acting career at a young age as a child actor. She started performing in school plays, and after her first performance, she asked her parents to send her to an acting institute. Although they initially rejected her idea, she persisted and eventually enrolled in an acting institute in Gwangju by the 6th grade.
Moon Geun-Young made her television debut in 1999 with the KBS children's drama "Potato" and later appeared in the documentary "On the Way" in 2000. Her breakthrough role came in 2000 when she played the character Eun-Seo in the KBS2 drama "Autumn in My Heart." The drama's success made her a recognized figure in the Korean public.
Moon Geun-Young continued to act in various dramas and films, including "Lover's Concerto" in 2002 and "A Tale of Two Sisters" in 2003. She received critical acclaim for her performance in the latter, which showcased her acting abilities in a more dynamic setting.

In 2008, Moon Geun-Young made her return to acting with the SBS period drama "Painter of the Wind." She played a woman who disguises herself as a man to become a painter, marking a departure from her previous roles. The drama received solid ratings and favorable reviews, and Moon Geun-Young won the top prize at the SBS Drama Awards.
In 2010, Moon Geun-Young took on the role of a sometimes villain in the KBS2 drama "Cinderella's Sister," further demonstrating her versatility as an actress.
