Morgan Bushe is a renowned Irish filmmaker who has made a significant impact in the industry as a producer, writer, and director. His films have been showcased at some of the most prestigious film festivals around the world, including the Sundance Film Festival, Directors' Fortnight at Cannes, the Berlinale, TIFF, Sitges, Telluride, IDFA, Busan, and TriBeCa.
As a producer, Bushe has worked on a number of notable projects, including Rebecca Daly's "The Other Side of Sleep", Janez Burger's "Circus Fantasticus", Alexandra McGuinness' "Lotus Eaters", Urszula Antoniak's "Nothing Personal", and Mike van Diem's "The Surprise". His company, Fastnet Docs, has also produced a range of acclaimed films, including "Colony", "The Land of the Enlightened", "Anton Corbijn Inside Out", "Jihad Jane", "The Last Days of Peter Bergmann", "A Bloody Canvas", "In Sunshine and in Shadow", and "Shoulder to Shoulder".
As a writer-director, Bushe has written and directed several films, including "If I Should Fall Behind", "Doghouse", and "The Belly of the Whale". His debut feature, "The Belly of the Whale", premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh and went on to screen at the Rome and Chicago International Film Festivals, where it was nominated for several awards.
Bushe's company, Fastnet Films, received a retrospective at the Irish Film Institute in 2015, and he is a member of the European Film Academy and the Irish Film and Television Academy. He is also a founding board member of WildCard Distribution and has been a graduate of EAVE and Inside Pictures.
