Nadia Murad Basee Taha, a truly remarkable and courageous individual, has made a profound and lasting impact on the world stage as a prominent Iraqi Yazidi human rights activist, currently residing in Germany, where she continues to tirelessly advocate for the rights and protection of her fellow Yazidi people and others who have been subjected to similar atrocities. Her remarkable and heart-wrenching story began in 2014, when she was brutally and callously kidnapped from her hometown of Kocho, a small, peaceful Yazidi village in northern Iraq, by the notorious and ruthless Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist organization, a group notorious for its heinous crimes against humanity and its brutal treatment of women, children, and other innocent civilians.
