Nick Bruno, a seasoned professional at Blue Sky Studios, makes his directorial debut with the exciting film Spies in Disguise.
Born and raised in Mohegan Lake, New York, Bruno's early years were marked by a passion for drawing and a desire to combine his artistic talents with his love of filmmaking. This led him to pursue a career in animation, which he further developed through his studies in illustration and fine arts at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.
Bruno's interest in computer-generated (CG) animation took him to New York University, where he earned his Master's degree in computer animation. In 2005, he joined Blue Sky Studios as a Junior Animator on the feature film ICE AGE: THE MELTDOWN, which was released in 2006.
Throughout his career, Bruno has risen through the ranks of animation, serving as Supervising Animator on THE PEANUTS MOVIE in 2015. That same year, Variety named him one of their "Ten Animators to Watch." His impressive animation credits include DR SEUSS' HORTON HEARS A WHO, ICE AGE: DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS, RIO, EPIC, ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT, ICE AGE: COLLISION COURSE, as well as two short films, "Surviving Sid" and the Oscar-nominated "No Time for Nuts."
In addition to his work in animation, Bruno is also a skilled storyteller. He co-wrote the graphic novel Urban Legendz, which was released in the spring of 2019.
Nick Bruno currently resides in his hometown of Mohegan Lake, New York, with his wife Allison and their three children.
