Nicola Bryant was born in 1960 in Surrey, England, to a father who worked as a heating engineer. From a young age, Nicola was exposed to the world of performing arts, beginning her training in dance and music at the tender age of three. She went on to study classical ballet, jazz, and tap, as well as learning to play the piano, flute, and guitar.
As she grew older, Nicola's passion for the performing arts only intensified, and she began to study acting at the prestigious Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. During her time at drama school, Nicola not only honed her acting skills but also continued to pursue her hobbies of golf and music. It was also during this period that she married the Broadway singer Scott Kennedy, although they later separated.
Nicola's final production at Webber Douglas was a lead role in the musical "No, No, Nanette." Her impressive performance caught the attention of an agent, Terry Carney, who spotted her potential and asked her to audition for the role of Peri in the popular television series "Doctor Who." Nicola landed the part and went on to appear in several episodes of the show.
After leaving "Doctor Who," Nicola appeared in a number of other productions, including "Blackadder's Christmas Carol," "Doctor Who: Dimensions in Time," and the successful "Stranger" videos. She also collaborated with her former "Doctor Who" co-star Colin Baker on the projects "The Airzone Solution" and "Doctor In Distress," a charity record that featured a number of British pop stars.
In 1995, Nicola landed a role in the children's television series "The Biz," which has since run for three series. She has also continued to work in the music industry, performing with a number of British pop stars and releasing her own music.
Today, Nicola lives in the London neighborhood of Notting Hill, where she is able to pursue her passion for music at all hours of the day and night, thanks to the understanding of her neighbors.
