Biography

Orangey, a talented feline performer, was sometimes professionally referred to as Rhubarb the Cat, and was expertly trained by the renowned animal trainer Frank Inn. Notably, Orangey is the sole feline to have won the prestigious Patsy Award twice, which is often regarded as the animal kingdom's equivalent of the Academy Award. This esteemed honor, presented by the American Humane Association's Hollywood branch, is bestowed upon the Picture Animal Top Star of the Year.

Orangey's impressive cinematic career began with his debut in the 1951 film Rhubarb, where he played the titular role of a baseball team-owning cat. This critically acclaimed performance earned him his first Patsy Award. Ten years later, Orangey won his second Patsy Award for his portrayal of "Cat" in the iconic 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany's. In this beloved movie, Orangey played a homeless feline, affectionately referred to as a "poor slob without a name," who becomes a regular visitor to Holly Golightly's (Audrey Hepburn) apartment.

Orangey's longest-running television role was as Minerva the Cat in the popular TV series Our Miss Brooks, which he played from 1952 to 1958. Throughout his remarkable career, Orangey consistently demonstrated his exceptional acting abilities, captivating audiences with his charming on-screen presence.
