Osas Ighodaro is a multifaceted individual who wears many hats, including those of an actor, host, producer, and humanitarian.
Born with a proud Nigerian-American heritage, Osas is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism, along with dual minor degrees in Entrepreneurship and Theatre. Her academic pursuits continued as she went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting from the prestigious Actor's Studio Drama School at Pace University.
In addition to her impressive educational background, Osas is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, a prestigious organization that celebrates the achievements of African American women.
Throughout her career, Osas has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry, starring in numerous projects, including 'Rattlesnake', 'Smart Money Woman', 'Fela and the Kalakuta Queens', 'Cadillac Records', and 'Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns', to name a few. She has also founded her own production company, Imuetinyan Productions, which aims to produce and develop inspiring, thought-provoking, and entertaining projects for a global audience.
Osas has received numerous accolades for her work, including consecutive awards for 'Best Actress in a Drama' at the 2022 and 2023 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, as well as the title of 'Woman of the Year in Entertainment' at the HER Network Awards in 2021. She has also been recognized as the 'Highest Grossing Box Office Actress' in Nollywood in 2018, 'Best TV Actress' at the 2014 Exquisite Lady of the Year Awards, and one of the top 3 highest grossing actresses in 2020.
In addition to her entertainment career, Osas is also a dedicated philanthropist. In 2010, she was crowned Miss Black USA, making her the first Nigerian American to achieve this title. She is also the founder of the Joyful Joy Foundation, a non-governmental organization dedicated to eradicating Malaria throughout Africa, one community at a time.
