Born in Brooklyn, New York, to driven Nigerian parents, Abit grew up in Queens, NY, where he developed a strong foundation for his future endeavors.
Abit's professional journey began with interning at The Labyrinth theatre company, which led to his involvement in the 2011 Broadway revival of That Championship Season, directed by Gregory Mosher and starring Kiefer Sutherland, Brian Cox, Jim Gaffigan, Jason Patric, and Chris Noth.
As his career progressed, Abit landed roles in both television and film, including appearances in The Humbling, directed by Barry Levinson and starring Al Pacino; Romeo & Juliet in Harlem; and Stonewall, in which he portrayed Marsha P Johnson, a pioneering figure in the gay liberation movement.
